Cellulite Resolution For Thigh & Glutes

Cellulite is a common cosmetic problem faced by many people, but they do not know how to get rid of it. Imago’s interventions aim at eliminating the core causes. First, it’s important to understand what cellulite is and what causes it. Cellulite occurs when fat begins to push against the skin, but the tough cords of connective tissue in the area holds some skin back, causing a dimpling or “orange peel” appearance. While our weight loss program can help improve this issue, that is not always enough to resolve it.

Imago Medical offers the best cellulite treatment in Utah, because it is natural and permanent. The success is by fixing the underlying problem of connective tissue imbalance. By using a permanent filler called PMMA, we are able to stimulate your body to grow new layers of connective tissue (collagen) just under the skin to restore a smooth and firm appearance, no longer dimpling between fat and connective tissue. And it is your own natural collagen for natural results!

How It Works

This process is identical to our Non-Surgical Brazillian Butt Lift. This procedure uses a permanent filler called Poly(methyl methacrylate) or PMMA, which has been an FDA approved facial filler for 20 years now. It has an excellent safety profile. When the filler is injected, it distributes microscopic particles of PMMA throughout the skin. The body’s natural response is to wall these droplets off with connective tissue called collagen. Thus, the filler stimulates natural collagen increase of that skin layer for a smooth & younger appearance. Since the PMMA is microscopic, you will not feel any filler, just your normal skin and tissues.

Using a cannula technique, we place the filler just underneath the dermis skin layer, in a safe, very superficial area away from blood vessels and nerves. This makes the procedure far safer than surgical options that go deeper and risk complications to other structures and tissue.  We place the filler in the needed areas to grow collagen that restores an even, smooth appearance to the skin. This new growth creates a consistent connective tissue layer rather than the sporadic one causing cellulite, for an overall improved look.

Procedure & Recovery

The procedure is s simple filler placement using a cannula technique similar to getting facial filler. The product contains lidocaine which numbs the areas as the procedure progresses. The entire process takes about 30 minutes to perform.

Afterwards, you can go home and resume most normal activity. We have you avoid pressure on the area for a couple days and skip exercise for one week. Discomfort after procedure is mild the next day, often described as sore from an intense workout.

The change is usually instantly noticeable, with full results of collagen growth seen at 8 weeks after procedure.

Commonly Asked Questions

How long does this treatment last?

PMMA is a permanent filler. However, no part of the body stays the same 10 years later, and it is possible for decrease of collagen after 10 years. Generally, when doing a cosmetic procedure, one should expect to need a touch up 10 to 15 years later. Otherwise, it is very possible this lasts 15 years or more. Similar to the duration of other treatment options.

What are the risks of this procedure?

This process is very safe. This filler has been used for decades, and is well known. We use a cannula to prevent entering blood vessels, and we go to a superficial layer just below the dermis layer of skin, where there are no arteries or large blood vessels. Similar to facial filler treatment risks but without danger to arteries.

What are the possible complications of this procedure?

This is an extremely safe procedure with the only risk that is above 1% would be mild asymmetry of collagen. It has not occurred with this procedure due to the dilution of filler to create just a thin collagen layer, and also the area is constantly being moved and pressure placed on it, thereby keeping the filler evenly spread. But, should a asymmetry occur, generally a focused tip massage gun can redistribute the filler and decrease the collagen. Also, we can do a touch up or steroid injection to smooth the area out.

Are there any other factors that can affect the outcome?

Substantial weight gain or loss could impact this procedure. It is recommended to be at a BMI less than 30 for this procedure. The new collagen will grow in the areas treated. So being at a stable weight is optimal. We also have a medical weight loss menu that can aid in getting ready for this procedure.
